Houser hints at next protagonist for DLC#2

"So can we pre-empt the next episode by seeing which characters feature the least prominently in the background?

"Yes," laughs Houser, "it's the third person on the left!""

If I had to guess who it was going to be, I would say either Real Badman or Gordon Sargent.

Looking back, Johnny was an obvious pick for a DLC protagonist position. They could easily make stories from either of these characters.

Edit: I was just reading an article (http://gta.wikia.com/wiki/Luis_Fernando_Lopez) on Luis Fernando Lopez, who is featured at three different points in the main storyline (A hostage in 'Three Leaf Clover', the man who messes up the Diamond Deal in 'Museum Piece' and appears at the Gracie Ancelotti/Diamond Exchange).

There is some speculation he will be the protagonist in the second episode of the DLC. Reasons to support this are his mysterious appearances in Grand Theft Auto IV, and questionable background. This is also suspected due to Niko and Johnny, two protagonists, meet up in the museum, and Luis appears to ambush it. As well as the achievement you get after completing the Museum Piece mission is called "Impossible Trinity", which at first is crpytic, but makes speculative sense: 3 characters have been brought together by almost impossble events. Whether or not he appears in the second episode of DLC is still up in the air, but by his mysterious appearances, he may be featured more in The Lost and Damned.

This is pretty exciting, there's a good chance that the next main character will appear in Johnnys story so if Luis does then I suppose that will be near confirmation.

wow only 20 missions i mean im excited but only twenty is a little dissapointing if thats the case. if it would have came out like it would have last august like its supposed to then maybe twenty would have cut it but since its been almost a year now twenty is no excuse they should add more.

Maybe Houser was being sarcastic? I don't think they've ever directly hinted at the next game's information until the title was confirmed. They hinted it through radio stations but not live interviews.

I think it is taking things a little too far to say that there are hidden meanings and covered up conspiracies behind the character for the second DLC episode.

if they take the same approach as they did with johnny (only appears in cutscenes never see him fight in real time combat) then there probably gonna go with luis but then again bulgarin never was in any real time combat so he could be the next protagonist to although i highly dought they will go that route i have been thinkin its luis ever since they announced johnny it just makes since to do him.

I think you will find that it is almost certain Luis will be our next protagonist. I've just played IV again quite recently, and if you call Roman after the missions 'Museum Piece' and 'Diamonds are a Girls best Friend' you will have a long chat with your cousin about how, in the former case, a Dominican looking guy came and shot up the deal, and in the latter case, the same Dominican was there for the diamond trade to which Niko goes on to ask if this could just be a coincidence.

There is an awful lot of talk about Luis for him to be just a small side character, don't you think?

there not gonna have them on this gta universe put in vice city and you can play as tommy. also i watched the ign commentary trailer and i must say hilary goldsteins prediction it dumb at the end " my predictioin is they will have co op with johnny and niko" i mean come on that is like my god its just dumb and this isnt the first time hilary as went way off and said somethin like this on a game. i wonder if he even like looks up stuff about the game or even cares to think on what a company would do with there game rather then just throwing in things like co op or some of the other crap he has said. also i think its about we see a criminal latino although i was suspecting that rockstar would make there first protagonist criminal latino a puerto rican or a mexican not dominican but i dont mind and i also think luis is good character to do it with he probably wont be acting all hard all the time or acting like a gangster i can see some emotional depth with him.

The guy who appears at the window and shoots up the diamond deal at the museum, Niko has to then escape the museum by means of a shoot out. He's also one of the two guys there when Packie & Niko trade Gracie to them for the diamonds.

Skip to about 6:15 in this video, he appears at the window and starts shooting.

If its Luis there is a big connection because then Luis has too do the Museum mission like Johnny, and Niko. It's all make sense if its Luis..Let's just HOPE its Luis.

Luis Fernando Lopez is a Dominican-American street gangster associated with the Northwood Dominican Drug Dealers and also works as a bodyguard for club owner and Ancelotti associate Anthony "Gay Tony" Prince. He is also be rumored to be involved in underground fight clubs. Luis appears during Grand Theft Auto IV on three occasions. The first time he visits the Bank of Liberty branch in Algonquin during the bank robbery pulled off by the McReary brothers and Niko Bellic in the mission Three Leaf Clover. Fellow hostage Eugene Reaper suggested that they stand up to the robbers. Luis stated it was a bad idea, which was proven when Eugene killed Keane and was then shot dead by Packie and Derrick. Yeah, I felt we didn't get enough of Packie, he being one of my favorite characters, I'd like to know more about his family and his way of life. I'd give Rockstar props if they chose Packie.
