Howdy!
I was trying to mod GTA:SA into an enjoyable game, but I've just about givin' up. From near as I can tell, this game was supposed to be like The Warriors, but it's been hacked into a million pieces with most of the cool parts removed:
01. Stealing Cars: There's no picking a lock.
02. Fighting: It's all one or two buttons
03. Stealing Radios: Can't do it.
04. Fencing Cars: Not in there.
05. FUn: it's been deleted!
06. the Map: Shouldn't San Andreas be one big city? It's really not that large an area. My guess is that someone took out most of the city to put the lame "country-side" and desert.
Oh well. Looks like the only thing to do (besides the "zany" missions and being chased by the pigs) is buy houses and put your cars in the garages. At the end of the day, that's really not very fun.
Also, perhaps someone could use the following files. They are lists (in .xls format) of NPCs in the game. They are attached to this post as NPC List.zip.
NOW! Time for the award winning NPC character that (I Think) deserves its own GTA game. This character, although not used in the game that I'm aware of, is of such quality (as compared to most of those "other" NPCs) that I can only thank Gawd that it was included in gta3.img.
The award goes to: WFYCRP (please see attached jpg for a glimpse of the true rockstariness of Rock Star Games ... truly THEY are the great hackERS)

San Andreas is a state, hence the rural and desert areas. At the time it first came out, it was the biggest sandbox style game on the market. If you want to share your thoughts of this mysterious NPC, why don't you post a picture or maybe a link.

So why try to mod this into The Warriors and not just play The Warriors?

Sorry, I deleted all my GTA:SA stuff last night (yawn). Like I said, there's really too much missing in the game's "final" release to justify modifying it. Just check gta3.img for it though, it's really pathetic (in terms of art ability and concept).
Oh yeah, some other reasons GTA sux:
01. Repetitative NPCs: Who the hell designs a game where it looks like you're living in a "clone world"? Couldn't they think of a way to NOT see the same guys over and over. I could.
02. No Locked Doors: EVERY NPC's door is unlocked. That's weak.
03. The Clock: Waaaaay too fast.
04. The Windows: nice artwork? How about being able to see inside like in the cutscenes?
I guess what I'm saying is, that someone took a really great game (of the quality of The Warriors) and then made this game with it. There's a lot to support this theory:
01. The Cities? Who the hell could justify all those tall buildings with residential areas that small? Maybe since they are all clones they live in each other's closets?
02. The Airports? Why three airports? I have a theory that the Los Santos Airport was a mall in the original game.
03. The highways. Don't they just turn into two lane roads? Why is that?
Well, I guess the world is confusing, so this game can add to that spOOkiness mystique.
The game obviously uses the same engine as another "RockStar" game "The Warriors" except this one sux and "The Warriors" rule. The Warriors, though not "sandbox-like" has a great plot AND you can see in the windows of stores, and the fighting rules, there's nice graphitti/radio stealing/drug buying/ex cetera modules. I dig the Warriors .. this game is pathetic.
BTW - RAWr. I don't like your post. I'm sending agents to your door tonight to take you to the mental ward.

If you don't like San Andreas, then don't play it. It is that simple.

and why come on a GTA fansite to bash a last generation GTA game that most members here enjoyed and that's why they joined this site.

Yo Yo Dawg. Peace out gangsta. Youz a hardcore gamerz in shizat! It's not easy takin' that verbiage to the online community gangsta. But I'm sure you talk that trash in the street.
Well, like I was saying, I'm pretty sure that Rockstar ??? took a great game an made it totally wanker. I see greatness in the game. I see a game about gangsters from another world (like the Warriors, but a different planet...long, long ago).
Anyway, you see these gangsters are still around. And I bet they'd be pissed to see a bunch of lowclass pukes make an ass of their tribulations.
Now, I've never played said game before, but I'm pretty sure the game involved the same type of world as I portray in my #1 hit video:

You can go back to playing your GTA games now Mr. Good Charlote Devil guy.

If your only goal here is to cause trouble, please leave. You've made your point, you dislike San Andreas. Great, I don't like the game that much either, but there's no point in making this big of a fuss, especially seeing as the game came out over four years ago.
