I've got to say Midnight Club 2, that game is awesome. My second one would be Project Gotham Racing just to let you know.

Midnight Club 2 is my favorate, pure racing game. I didn't like NFSU racing wise... The graphics were great, though. The feel of NFSU after you've been playing Midnight Club 2 for the past year, isn't all that great.

i'm appaled almost that gran turismo hasn't been mentioned. that game is by far and away the best. i mean jeez..it's demo disc for 4 is larger than almost all the games out there alone. over 500 cars, and around 100 tracks...how can you beat that? i mean i like NFSU for the simple fact i get to customize a car, but other than that it's not all that great.

the game is the most realistic game out there. and i mean for gods sake...there using gt4 for training schools about driving. if that doesn't deserve credit i don't know what does.

Midnight club 2 all the way, ilegal street racing is always fun, in my opinion GT isn't that great, i mean sure they have over 500 cars and lots of tracks but you never really get to own even half of the cars before you get bored of the game, but overall it's a good game

Overall, it's an EXCELLENT game, not good. That game has awesome graphics and the most realistic driving that other games don't have. I prefer simulators a lot better than other type of racing games but only since the competition is Midnight Club 2, I'm going to have to agree so my list of the top 3 racing games would be:
1.Midnight Club 2.
2.Gran Turismo 3 A-Spec.
3.Project Gotham Racing.

I don't own a ps2, but grand turismo is the best racing game. I like nfs underground to.

omg, I had Project Gotham, but oh god, that game is boring, and you can't even play a "normal" race where you get to choose how many laps or how many cars or where to race, you only get to play "kudos challenge" "time attack" "arcade race" and something else, sure the graphics are awesome, they are life-like... but overall the game is not fun to me, i prefer arcade racing rather than simulation

Hmmmmmmmm you all seem to love the arcade type racing games. I like Gran Turismo 3. Burnout 2 is also fun because it has good damage modling.

The only Simulator I like is Collin McRae Rally 04, I love that game cuz it mixes simulation and fun perfectly together

I like GT3 cause its not overdone with fast cars. You can buy a Nissan Skyline IF you get the 86' Toyota Tercel first and win races with that. GT4 is going to have about 600 cars which is pretty crazy compared to most racing games. Oh and theres an Arcade mode if you just want to pick up a car and race.
