After the destruction of a public, third-party member map, I decided to go ahead and make our very own with a personal touch for GTAGaming. It doesn't have too much use, but it's a fun way to show the diversity of users on the forums. The directions are available on the page but I'll summarize them here for extra clarity:
1. You must be a registered GTAGaming member and logged into your account in order to add your point
2. You can create a point on the map by clicking anywhere, however it is a better idea to use the "Quick Zoom to Location" form, in which you can type any address or city that Google Maps would recognize, and the map will automatically zoom to that point. Just click any spot on the map, and a blip will appear with a submission form pop-up. You can click any other point on the map to move the blip, or even drag and drop it. Once you're ready, type in your location in the text box and click the Add button. The page will refresh and you should see your new point on the map!
To view which users are already placed on the map, click "Quick Zoom to Member" to expand the list. Clicking any member's name will automatically zoom the map into the location they have pinpointed. Clicking the blip produces a little pop-up with a link to their profile and their location input.
Note: you can only add one point to the map. If you've made a mistake, find your blip, click it to expand the pop-up, and press Delete (the Delete button only shows up on points that you have created). This will allow you to make a new point on the map.
It only takes a second, so be sure to add your location! And remember, rules that apply on the forums apply on this map - keep it clean!
