The new car models are most likely High Poly compared to the Rockstar ones.

Basically > Better Model quality > More work on the GPU's part to process it.

The game engine isn't meant to be used with high poly models. At least, it doesn't handle them well compared to other games. You'll just need to make do without them.

Oh you know, Higher Poly Models, Higher Resolution Textures, etc running on an engine that expects the official stuff only, it doesn't matter how great your PC is (although it helps) the game engine starts to slow down once too many mods are installed and the default IMG start to get bigger due to the larger Poly and Texture count.

We gave you one possible explanation to the problem. Looks like you know the answer to your own question already.

Vista tends to have more problems with older games and programs compared to XP, Since San Andreas was designed for Windows XP it will work better on XP. Vista is not really a gaming platform at the moment, very few games run better on XP and even when they do, they require more Ram to run compared to XP systems.

Opposite to what?

If your saying the game runs slower on Vista than on XP, then it's normal. Vista takes more resources than XP, leaving less for the game.

Depends on what stuff you've got running in the background as well, i've got a normal 61 apps running on Vista compared to around 42 max on XP

It's not Vista, it's a combination of your current hardware setup and what you're running in the background.

Vista only hinders performance by a mere few percent over XP. If you're really having issues, make sure you get all possible updates for Vista via Windows Update.

Try this:

Start menu - control panel - power options - and make sure high performance is toggled. By default, vista has it set to balanced, which limits the usage of your processor, making vista appear to run slower than xp.

My computer is starting to get use to the high polys

if you dont get what i mean,it is that i installed a Puegot 406,there are 2 versions:

Normal and Crazy Taxi

Normal:No problems

Crazy Taxi:it gets laggy, but now its running smooth as if the computer is getting use to it

what are the odds??
