This past week <a href="/forums/member.php?u=51953" target="_blank">Koolio</a> has been hard at work in order to bring you GTAGaming's latest feature: our very own IRC network! It's been long overdue, but we think it's better late than never.

There are two ways in which you can begin chatting. The first option is for users who want to connect through their browser using a convenient Java applet. The applet launcher can be found at our <a href="/irc" target="_blank">IRC channel page</a>. Simply type in the username you want, select the channel to join, and the chatbox will pop up in a new window so you can continue browsing GTAGaming. However, for those that want to connect using their own IRC client (for example, Windows: <a href="http://www.mirc.com">mIRC</a> / OS X: <a href="http://www.colloquy.info" target="_blank">Colloquy</a>), use the following information:
<b>Server:</b> <a href="irc://irc.gtagaming.com">irc.gtagaming.com</a>
<b>Channels:</b> <a href="irc://irc.gtagaming.com/gta">#gta</a> (General GTA discussion), <a href="irc://irc.gtagaming.com/vco">#vco</a> (Vice City Online chat), <a href="irc://irc.gtagaming.com/ot">#ot</a> (Off-Topic discussion), <a href="irc://irc.gtagaming.com/help">#help</a> (IRC Help)
The network details above can also be found at our new <a href="/irc" target="_blank">GTAGaming IRC channel</a> page for quick reference.
The rules are currently being written, but until then just keep on the same behavior as you would in our forums. Read our <a href="/forums/announcement.php?f=282" target="_blank">forum rules</a> if you have some question as to what's acceptable, but if you keep from flooding channels with posts and making derogatory remarks, you should be fine. Enjoy your chatting, and don't forget to register your nickname once you join!
