So I'm thinking of getting a 32 gig iPod Touch. I don't have an mp3 player so it's not like this will be extra baggage. But is this really worth it? I used to have one of those regular iPods and yeah I could just go with that but the Touch looks really cool and it has WiFi. The only thing is that I want it to have a camera since I don't have a digital camera, and also the price. It's like a Ps3 price right, $500? And I can't get the iPhone as an alternative because I don't need an extra phone and I don't have At&t.
So should I go for it? Save up for the 32 gig ipod touch?

There are two reasons why it would be a good deal: if you really are going to use nearly 32GB of storage or if you are into gimmicks. The iPod Touch is pretty cool, yes, but think about the practicality and what you're paying for: do you really need to use the WiFi and have a fancy style? Personally, I wouldn't buy it - but if you have the money and don't care how you spend it, go for it, it's an awesome MP3 player. If I were buying a new MP3 player though, I'd probably go with the 80GB iPod Classic (http://store.apple.com/us/browse/home/shop_ipod/f amily/ipod_classic). Half the price and over double the storage, and it looks just fine to me!

Go for it. I had an iPod Touch the day it was launched, and I LOVED it until it was stolen. :wtf:
Now I have an iPhone (unlocked on T-Mobile), but I can honestly say that the iPod Touch is a great product. The browser is amazing, the email client is excellent, and the actual 'iPod' features are the best out there. Get it.

Yeah, but you have to understand, the iPod Touch is more than just a 32GB mp3 player. It has a full web browser and email capabilities. Essentially, it's a multi-touch internet enabled PDA. At least that's what it became for me before mine was stolen. Plus, there is tons of software to install on it from the App Store (Super Monkey Ball is excellent). Oh yeah, and if you're going to be watching any type of video, the iPod Touch is the way to go.

I lold at the first bit, not to the actual fact but to the way i could imagine somebody saying that.
Ipod Touch browser would be pretty useless imo,
If you have a wireless router you most obviously have a computer.
But on topic, I don't have one but iv used one and they aren't too bad.
If you want as much storage as possible, Like rappo said get the 80gb classic.
But if you like an MP3 player with great style and a few extra features then for it.

It all depends on what you're into. If all it's for is to impress people, don't bother. The Classic has more storage for half the price. Also, I personally know three people that have owned a Touch just to turn around and sell the thing to get a Classic. It was more of a statement purchase for them than for functionality. Just do what your budget can afford. That's usually the best policy.:peace:

Oh I know, I'm just talking about myself, I know that some people may want those sorts of things. But, I have a laptop that is much more powerful than an iPod, so what use do I have for that? I can see the handiness of the iPhone because you don't need a WiFi connection to browse online, but with the iPod Touch it's essentially the same as a laptop.

I don't think I'll ever fill up an 80 gb mp3 player but it does seem like the more logical purchase.
Does anyone know if any future models of the touch will have a camera? if it does then it's a no brainer for me.

^I doubt it. Because then it would be essentially an iPhone without texts or calls for less. Then people would buy cheaper phones and an iPod touch.

There's some pretty freaking cool apps you can download, so that's a plus, and the Wi-Fi is nice, but needing a hot spot is annoying instead of being able to use Edge or 3G with the phone. I'd say go for it unless you want some primarily for music, rather an everything-doer.

With that said, I think I'll go for the 32 gig
