Oh and mods, if im making threads too quickly feel free to delete or lock this
As far as I remember, back in the 80's and early 90's they did the same thing. Make a 3D picture for a 2D game. What I'm trying to say is that a washed out picture does not necessarily mean that the game will be in 3D. Although, it is possible.
Time will tell...

They are definatly not going to recreate all of Liberty in GTA IV... so I'm going to just assume that washed out picture is just for looks.

From what I've heard, it's going to be top-down 3D.

Niko_Bellic, you have to stop with these PROOF threads that don't actually contain any proof, more speculation :P

GTA: Chinatown Wars, I think, will be just like GTA Advance is to GTA III, in the GTA IV series of games. Hence the artwork. It will be set in Liberty City's chinatown, but might not be limited to that area. The protagonist will most probably be Chinese.
And looking at the announcement it looks like it's going to be an RPG game. I think, you control a whole group of triads or something, and you do missions in Liberty City and that's how the "touch screen is used to navigate" around the city and stuff. It'll most probably be in 3D and another 2D screen in the secondary screen and map controls and such.
As a chinese myself, it'll good to see how they will portay the Chinese people, however. Perhaps Jet Li or Jackie Chan as the voice actor for some character? When they did not use the chinatown portion of Liberty City in GTA IV, I knew something like this was gonna happen...
And... lastly, I think the DLC packs for Xbox 360 are like VC/SA. So possibly in the future we will have more PSP GTA games!

Why SHOULDN´T it be 3D ? The Stories on the PSP were in perfect 3D, this can be almost as good.
The DS is like the N64, the PSP is almost like the PS2. While they can make it 3D, it won't be the same way.
Not saying that's bad. We don't know anything yet.

Japsee said in the" poll thread "So will this be top-down or 3rd person?" that it would look like driver 2 and he has a point. The Ds does have power but not on the scale as the PSP does
Top down without a doubt. Unless you want to see Driver 2 like graphics.

Well yeah, the PSP is effectively 128-bit and the DS is only 64-bit, aren't they?

As we've all said, it isn't proof, more speculation, the thread starter just assumed it was proof when there wasn't any.

Do we actually care if it is 3d or not. What i mean is the graphics is not the issue it is the gameplay that comes first and the graphics come second. For me it is the gameplay that i am looking foreward to first

Well of course you are, but surely you realise that the difference between this game being 2D or 3D hugely affects gameplay as well? It is not just about how the game will look, but how the game being 2D rather than 3D or vice versa will affect the style and mechanics of the game.

that is true dude. I know graphics affects the gameplay but i perfer to hear about the gameplay first and then the graphics next. I like to hear what features are going to be in the game and what weapons and what characters etc.. is in the game and then the graphics. I know that if there is to much stuff in the game the graphics will have to be dipped down so the game can handle the stuff. Or that if there is to little features then the graphics will be much better.

Maybe, it will be like the option in Grand Theft Auto III where you could play it in eaither sky view or 3D. Or maybe the touch screen will be the sky view and the Protagionist will be on the other screen. Just a thought.

Maybe but i don't think they will put it like that but still it would be nice if they do

I personally think it will be the classic top down helicopter view, but in 3d.

I personally think they should have made this a PSP tie-in game which you could connect wirelessly to a PS3.
I think this game will look quite cheap compared to the games post GTA 3.

you do know it's for nintendo the graphics won't be as good but good enough but i don't care about the grapics if it's a good game then i will enjoy it
The DS is 64-bit. It wouldn't run a 3D game of this size, besides, it wouldn't fit on a cartridge anyway.
