The HDD comes with FFXI, but the HDD costs like $100

$100 is more than I make in a day.
Pointless addon IMHO. People aren't going to spend $100 on it if it's only for one game. They'd rather spend their $100 on two new games than a Hard Drive. Pfft!

i have it, i just got it today actually. i went up to gamestop and got it, came home and started playing ffXI. the game is awesome, if you like mmorpg's. and the HDD actually has alot of possible uses. downloadable content being the main one. downloadable demo's, levels, special cheats, possibly mods. the price tag was a bit much...but i feel it was worth every penny.

You can store all of your memory card data from one spot, and save movies and stuff like Eye Toy on your HDD, as large as you want. You can save alot of games onto your HDD, all games from SquareSoft from FF9 to FF11+. 3rd party software is coming, which means rippable music, and other files. Plus, there will be more games coming out in the future that needs the PS2 HDD in order to show the game's full power, (Like Perfect Dark with the expansion chip). It's definitally worth it in my opinion. Plus, you can use a mouse! Another good thing for future games.

sure, Hard Drives expand the gameplay
on another note, XBOX user like me actually saved money since you only spend $180 for a new xbox with 2 games included and harddrive built in... that was a good investnment

man, i cant wait for spring break...im gonna work my ass off all week. And then go buy HDD...buy some PC Games, Buy and XBOX for Splinter Cell 2 and some other stuff....OMG...YEAH!!

yeah he's doing a great job until he warns you for asking him a question about why he warned you in the first place for spamming even though you honestly pretty much never spam, but there are people who leave one word posts all the time yet he lets them slide even though you report them to him. he singles people out. so you really don't have any idea what kind of a job he's doing because you havn't been screwed yet. and i'm not flaming neil every one. i'm just stating what i think is an injustice to alot of people.
and why are we talking about this in here? this should be another total topic alltogether. the life and times of neil? or something like that since he's become a popular topic amongst members lately.

so far just final fantasy XI, but sadly *sniff sniff* my appt got robbed when i was at work... i'm pissed and vowed to hunt down the assholes who did it. now i'm stuck playing vice city on my gf's ps2. sorry zidane no meet up in ffXI

Man...Looking back on this the HDD reeeeeally flopped compared to what it was supposed to do. This just brought something to mind. Hopefully the build up for Next Gen systems somes true, I forgot about how Sony said you could browse the internet with your PS2's and stuff...So lets hope they keep their promises with the newer systems...
