I looked on gamestate.net and didn't find much because mainly the site and mag is fairly new.

However, if this is real I got to see scans...

I don't have a scanner.. I'll see if I can get a friend to scan it..

What I ment about it breaking any laws and such is that it is a development magazine.. Its basically for companies like Blizzard, Rockstar, etc.
I got it because I was in Cyberox-Interactive.. A fairly simple, but registered gaming company with gameSTATE.

In the pictures, some are the C++ compiler with some code of the game.
One screenshot shows a bike and two cars just idling, no people around, or a main character even. Just three vechiles sitting on a grassy area with some buildings in the backdrop.

In another, it shows a airport with a plane coming in to land.

The cars and bikes really are quite impressive and the buildings seem so smove and rendered great.

Of course we care about how he goes about this. A digital camera would sorta ruin the picture.

I want to clear up some issues, to keep everyone out of trouble..

gameSTATE is a magazine by Criterion, which is Renderware.. Renderware is used by RockstarGames.
I feel that RockstarGames would give a few snapshots to Renderware as for being their engine and such. It also seems that gameSTATE would be a good way to show off the pictures to other gaming companies.

I'm not completely sure that publishing these pictures to public is the best idea.. If I did, isn't that leaking information? Because Rockstar haven't already done so.

For now, all I can do is keep it enclosed. Within the next few hours or days, I might end up putting them up.

For those of you who are reading this that are involved in the game industry. check out the gameSTATE book for some nice screens. Its your own descion if you choose to post them, but I would really think about it first.

OK, I don't know another name for it.. It's like a magazine. You cannot buy it any store, only way to subscribe is if your in a company, it doesn't feel like an actual magazine, but more like a booklet that comes out every so often (every quarter i think)..

So basically its like a private magazine for companies of that industry only.

It could be Vice City shots beczz he says that in one picture it shows a airport with a plane coming in to land.
In vice city in the beginning there is a plane landing when tommy comes to vice city and Ken Rosemburg welcomes him

Just thought I would fill you in another thing the magazine mentions;

I won't completely write it word for word, but it does say something along the lines

"Grand Theft Auto: Vice City has proved the barriers between videogames and movies is narrowing, but will the next installment of the franchise be based in Hollywood?"

I'm not sure if thats just coming from a rumour, or if it is actually based on first-hand knowledge.
None the less, I posted it just for you guys to ponder over.

Also, I looked closely in one of the screenshots, and it looks as if it does have a male driving it. It's not the best quality to zoom in on such a degree, so I can't tell if it looks more like a normal ped (are they still called that if driving) or if it is the play model.

Edit, as for an update on the pictures -- I can't get anywhere, in Australia it's Easter holidays, pretty much like your Spring break. Hopefully I'll get out somewhere soon.

Just for you to ponder, as I was thinking today, doesn't this possibly spoil the mood/game for us consumers, Rockstar pretty much sends out a picture in a weird way (e.g the postcards from ViceCity), so it gets the anticipation up and makes the game a bit more realistic and what not.
These pictures are pretty much to show off to other big names that, like (I can't think of the developer) Driver3 and such. Rockstar pretty much wants to show to them that, "We are the original, we are better than you" and to show to others that they can make the games people want.

So seeing such revealing information may make Rockstar a bit slippery in marketing.

Just my thoughts, your positive and negative feedback is welcome.

Ok, notice to the left of Knuckles there is a cartoon-looking guy. This cartoon guy strikes a resemblance to GTA3/VC character drawings. However, I have NEVER seen him in the drawings of both games. Could this be linked to the alleged GameSTATE SA pics?

I live in Australia, things are pretty much similar to your habitat they call the USA, what more, I don't have a licence. Only way for me to get around is walk or public transport, which requires money. Which, my friend, without a job at the moment, I cannot afford to do too frequently.

In other news though, on VGA (Video Game Awards) on MTV last night, Ray Liotta picked up best..don't quote me, but I think it was best addictive game, althoughj I cannot remember.
He recieved it because he was the main voice-over of course, although it was for the game, surprisingly, GTA: ViceCity.
He did say;
"Thanks.. Now all the people that I tell I'm a good guy wont trust me at all after seeing me as Tommy Vercetti. It was great working with the guys at Rockstar. Can't wait for the next one guys. Thanks!"

There are pictures, but I think they are just modded Vice.
I doubt it will be too long before offical ones come out though.
I also doubt the developers would dicide to post it in a mag though.
