About the 1.01 update we got on PS3 shortly after the release of the game.

Okay , so what is this update was supposed to do?? I only got it today because I only plug my PS3 to the internet occasionnaly for a system update. I have a high end 52 inch HDTV plugged with HDMI on 1080p, but shit , GTA is still a pixelated game with pop-ups everywhere, you're driving fast , you see the pedestrians and trash cans pop-up in front of you. You see walls textures going from low-res to detailed. Still a lot of graphical problems that annoyed me from SA are still there. I can't believe Gamespot gave them a perfect 10! It must be a kiss-ass review since they got the game early from them and they want the next one early too. So what did that 1.01 update do?? I don't see a better pop-up handling or anything.

Maybe your PS3 just sucks, or your disc is scratched. You think of that? Something like that?

That update was only related to the multiplayer, something about stopping the servers being overloaded I think.

What you describe about pop in sounds much worse than anything I've come across. I can only suggest either backing up your data and formatting your hard drive or checking your disk isn't dirty/scratched.

You're playing the PS3 version which is upscaling 640p to 1080p, try playing the game at 720p instead so it isn't as stretched out, the 360 is true 720p, so if the graphics still look bad to you then you should consider the 360 version for a slight improvement.
