In an e-mail i recieved from rockstar the bit it said about SA was

The 2004 follow through also includes the release of Manhunt on the PC and Xbox, as well as Grand Theft Auto's introduction on the GameBoy Advance and the arrival of Vice City on Japanese shores. And finally, the 2004 finisher...

From what I got from that "The 2004 finisher" is that San Andreas will be the last of the series. Do you think that this is true. Or am i just getting muddled up?

i seriously thouhght the same thing for a while...but i really doubt it.

they will probably just make 1-2 more later on PS3....and then in like a couple years after that....one on PS4.

but i dunno...i could be wrong.

Seeing as how GTA III and VC have made tens of millions of dollars and SA will undoutably do the same, I very much doubt it.

What they mean is San Andreas is going to be the last Grand Theft Auto to use that type of engine, there going to make the next one differently using a different type of engine possilbly for the PS3 & next generation consoles & PC's.

Ofcorse as long as there are ppl like us all of us that post on this forum are going o get SA on one platform or another even if it gets the worst reviews cause we cant get enough of GTA sa will make more then VC like VC made more then GTA3 and it will keep going that way till they get stupid

Rockstar meant that it is the grand finale in their line of games for 2004.
As it is the most anticipated, its "their finisher" as it will make the most money.

Rockstar commented before that it was not their last, they said something like "GTA: San Andreas will be the last game using the same format as our other GTA games." or something.. I think that was Rockstar, or could have been IGN or something.. Either way, Rockstar make too much money from the games.

And if it is their last, its extremely likely its their last for the PS2..the PS3 (due out next year) will be ready for GTA: X, X being the next title after SA.

So, yeah, either one year later, or two, you can pretty much expect another GTA game.

Any announcements from Rockstar, even the minor ones bump TakeTwo's shares up hugely.. Because they actually came out and said that the nex one will be San Andreas, although everyone knew it, TakeTwo's shares rose high up(think it was 3%, which is damn high..especially for real small press release.).

Rockstar Games still make other gmaes just as good..

Exactly what I realised earlier in this thread. Rockstar will probaly make GTA games for years to come, they make so much money from it. But I hope they don't stretch it out for too long.

I don't think R* would stop with making future GTA's because of all the money they're making. They probably will most likely have another GTA for 2005 to debut exclusively on PS3.

if you think about it thats kinda stupid, releasing a not so popular console after a very popular console after everyone has spent there money getting the popular console. there fore everyone will be bsuy playin their ps3 when xbox 2 comes out and no-one will care xbox 2 is out because they will like the ps3 so much and they won't have any money left to get the xbox 2 any way.
