I played a few games, still aint got into it quite yet though. Due to the servers being down etc; its kind of lowered my hype for the MP aspect of the game but hey. Whats it like though? does it live up to the hype? have you played it alot.... i played 2 games about 2 minutes in free roam and a couple of deathmatches thats it

It really is GTA online. I mean, they haven't changed anything from the single player - the combat is the same, the driving is the same, everything's the same. I feel this works AGAINST it because the combat was something designed for picking off AI bad guy after AI bad guy and watching them fall to the floor. When one person can get a reasonably good gun and do exactly this to you, it feels more than a little unfair.

I've also noticed a huge amount of sync issues with the game. Sometimes you can be driving along and your tyre will explode on its own because someone had shot that car previously, but your system wasn't yet up to date with it. Other problems occur in races where you'll be driving along and suddenly you'll be stunned as an AI car appears right in front of yours or another player's vehicle just warps to the same piece of track, usually resulting in one person getting spun out or knocked into one of the famous GTA poles which cannot be knocked over.

Yeah, the online mode on this game might be cool with all the areas to explore and all the things synced up, but I think it is a little too ambitious in what it is trying to do and the hardware and network simply cannot keep up.

The multiplayer is absolutely fantastic. Not without its problems, but it works very well.

If people like Neil are having complaints about the targeting system, he can always play without autoaim. It's an option that can be set by the host.

It's not easy to just pick people off left and right that way... it becomes like any other shooter game. And if he still has complaints with that... well too bad for him.

Also... I don't experience many sync/lag issues at all. Most of the time it's smooth. When I shoot somebody, they generally die and I don't have that experience I do in the PC San Andreas multiplayer mods where I'd unload entire clips on somebody and they wouldn't die, yet I'd die when they shoot me once. When I shoot people, even with sniper rifle from a large distance, they die as if I were fighting NPCS in singleplayer.

The very occasional warping problems are there, but it's quite rare for me. Not common enough to distract from the experience.

Free roam can be frustrating if you're hoping for a non-deathmatch type thing sometimes. I understand people like to kill eachother, but that's what deathmatch is for. I'm always trying to get teamed up with people to fight the police and take over places and such.
