Just out of curiosity, what is the official way of knowing you've been banned from Xbox Live? Are you just suddenly unable to log in or do you get an official message from Microsoft?

umm when you try to login it says you have been banned a says the date until you are banned

tonnes of peole have got banned because od offensive mottos and Bios for a single day and code of conduct comes up all over their account

They'd assume you pirated the game and ban you :)

Not really. It's been leaked everywhere and Microsoft obviously know that it has.

They won't ban anyone.

No I haven't lol I ain't even got the game yet, just was curious.

Edit: Cos I know that if I get it tomorrow, I might give in to temptation and put it in early but if it will result in instant banning then I'll get someone to hide it for me :D

Well you could just disconnect your network adapter from the Xbox

Xbox Live is probably just down because they are preparing for the huge rush on Tuesday.

As long as you purchase the game legally form an official/registerd retailer, it would be 100% illegal for M$ to serve you a ban for playing early!

I just spoke to them and they haven't had any announcement regarding bans.
