"Kotaku goes on to comment correctly that the PS3's online service is being handled, in part, by Gamespy. They say that this setup will really have nothing to do with Sony, although you'll be using your standard PlayStation Network names in-game."
just wondering what that means? and will it be as good? :zero:
It just means that gamespy will host the master server list...in other words, all server report to the master server, and from there you get the list of servers to connect to.
Most popular multiplayer games uses gamespy.

that is not true....companies use gamespy so they dont have to develop their own software.

Exactly why I'm getting it for the 360. GameSpy kills every online console game, ever since the first Tony Hawk games for PS2. They haven't changed.
It has nothing to do with develop their own software. Game Spy just hosts and maintains the master server list. Games like the quake series, battlefield series, halo 1/2 for the pc, Unreal series, Enemy Territory (both quake and wolfenstein), and so much more uses game spy.
