View Full Version : Your style of GTA
Im sure everybody can't wait to start blasting up the city and go complete apocalyptic on the people, but the first thing I want to do when I get is to actually drive around. Have any of you guys ever gone the speed limit, not rampaged through the city, or pretended like it was real life and walk on the street instead of running?
Does anybody else ever do this once in awhile?
I used to do that all the time in GTA3 and VC. I'll probably end up doing the same (after I go on a rampage of course) just to take in the atmosphere.

Yeah, I usually run a few missions and then just drive around, knowing the streets is paramount. If I'm be chased (or chasing someone else) I like to know every little shortcut, ain't got time to look at the minimap doing 90.

everynow and again i will follow traffic laws and things, but then half the time i dont do that when i'm really driving so screw doing it on GTA :P
absolutely.
Knowing the area is prime, but the most fun part is discovering it. I just love taking some car and just driving everywhere. In San Andreas I drove like, across all states on the back roads like a road trip.

If I knew the world was going to end in approximately 4 hours... I would take up my time to steal a Hummer H1 and run over the elderly and laugh maniacally.

I love just taking in the sights. I'm sure I'm going to do this more in GTA4 since the city is so huge. I've been coming to this website since the Vice City days, I was just to lazy to ever sign up haha.

It's gonna be tough to choose: Crack on with the missions? Just bimble about exploring? Or spazz out and cause a whole load of chaos?
I guess I'm just going to have to see how I feel, and go with the flow. But there'll be so much atmos to soak up, I'll probably be taking it at quite a slow pace at first. Liberty City is gonna be so awesome...

well whenever i get minez, i'ma steal a taxi and speed around the city. check out back alleys, places to have police chases, places to rob, etc etc.
I like to just casually stroll about, listening to random ped conversations and taunts, watch drivers and crashes. But the sweetest thing of all is that heavenly sound of a steel bat cracking round some unfortunate pimp's face. I also like to sucker punch people and have them chase me for a while, especially the cops :D
Can't wait to throw someone off of a building though.
I've done that before in the previous GTA's.
I'm planning to be a good citizen (or immigrant in this case) at the beginning. I'll do some missions first but then I'll drive around slowly and stop at red lights. Maybe I'll do some taxi side missions too and get to know the city a little better.
But before I can do that I'm forced to watch the same 4 official trailers and videos from the main GTA IV site, look at some screenshots, and avoid any gameplay videos...

Yeah, I'll probably just cruise around for a while, don't wanna be too loud in the wee morning hours of the 29th, lol

In single player, Niko's gonna be an alcoholic serial killer with a rap sheet as long and wide as ten football fields put together. In Multiplayer, you guys will just have to see for yourselves. I may become a bit unpredictable. Look for me in Free Roam. :P

You're so going to be the guy who I'll see driving a car back and forth over a mangled corpse, and then shouting "WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING AT " at some poor mailbox as you begin to bash the shit out of it as well
... lez be friends

lol.. that's what GTA's all about, man. :D
And sure. You can't have too many friends in this life. ;)
that would be really cool if crosswalks actually had people go across them.
I don't know if its been mentioned before, but, Id like to roll up to one, and then, you know, have my foot accidentally slip on to the gas pedal...

I like driving slowly next to a car in a hummer then shoot the car and watch them drive off like maniacs and I would go after them trying to run them off the road until their car blows up. Classic stuff used to do that in gta III
I fell in love with the riot that happened in San Andreas
Every while Ill put on Pedestrians have guns, Pedestrian Riot and Pedestrians try to kill you, and we'd spawn up multi and race across the states through the downtown trying to survive.
Probably the most adrenaline rush from a videogame =D

With next-gen in all it's beauty, I do this sometimes. Only game I have to do it in is Crackdown, and it's alright, but I can't wait to cruise around Liberty City. I've been hoping that they kept the dashboard view feature in. I want to cruise around with a first person view of whats going on, it could really change the GTA experience.
But basically, if I have a nice car and anybody hits it, I'll kill them.

its gonna be kick ass cruisin in the city and separating 16 people into 2 gangs of 8 then just taunting them until a fight eruts and then the winning gang can continue on until the next time they get messed with.

Or turn all the police off and deputize 3 or 4 players who police the rest of the players. I wonder if you can bring up other people in multiplayer through the police computer?
That'd be pretty interesting. I wish Rockstar or some magazine commented on what it was like. I'm curious how you'd enter it and all that.

Yeah, kind of put yourself in the characters shoes and roleplay abit. I know every GTA Player has done it, but when I pick up my copy I probally will do the missions and take the game abit more seriously, explore and not cause too much trouble, but then again, it wouldn't be GTA without too much trouble.

thats what i do when a friend is over.I loved trying to avoid rpgs as they flew past your car.Especially when it was the elderly wielding the rpg.
For single player i like stealing a sports car turn on the cinematic camera and cruise around the city listening to classic rock and obeying the law of course. :)

I have always had a love for Taxis. Mix it with realistc driving and I'm amused. Driver PL was awesome for driving and Taxis, I hope GTA IV is, too, cos if it is, I'll be driving ina taxi most of the time : p

I like to just take everything out on everyone. Rundown, burn, hit, shoot, cut, bash, kick, slaughter, offend, annoy, crash, and bang. Especially the rundown part. Sidewalks are the new streets for me. =)
Roleplaying in GTA has always been great, I love it.

yeah Driver PL was kinda fun but the story was weak and shooting mechs were a pain
i loved just driving around and absorbing everything in previous freeroaming games. Sometimes i even stage car accidents lol
I liked the driver 2 cause you could actually make movies and whatnot
You could do it even better on Driv3r.
