GTA San Andreas: The Facts
The game will be called Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas and will be released only for Playstation 2 on October 19th in the USA and October 22nd in Europe. Other formats have not been ruled out, but expect a delay of around the same time as it took to port Vice City to other platforms. This isn't out of "laziness" by Rockstar, instead it's for contractural reasons and the exclusiveity of the game to Playstation 2 while it's in it's prime. The only image to have been released is below:

All other images, including "screenshots" are fake.
No information related to any aspect of gameplay has been released. This includes Setting (Time, Place), Characters, Gameplay, Cars, Swimming etc.
I hope this sorts fact from rumour. Remember, nobody has a "friend at Rockstar" since the company does an incredibly good job at staying tight lipped about the game. And if you "heard gameplay element X is in San Andreas" it's purely rumour, and let's face it, rumours are made up by people with nothing better to do than fantasise about this game.

He means that if you heard that the game has a feature (ex. swimming) its purely a rumor.

hehe those funny comercials cracks me up... once in VC i heard a commercial about some ghetto cream : Ghetto Cream, great for suppers, it will make u laugh... (if u get it,or if nobody thinnks its funny then im just weird)....

Man i really cannot wait untill SA comes out! i hope its as good if not better than Vice! and doesnt have stupid glitches like flying to the city boundry and then the game freezing! lol

So will the game be released for PC eventually?
at some point yes, there is just a contract between Sony and R* so they have to wait a certain ammount of time before releasing it on another console. I cant remember but i think when VC came for PC there was like a 6 months inbetween them, so i dunno, i could be longer for SA to PC or it could be shorter.

Vice PS2 was released October 29, 2002.
Vice PC was releaed May 13, 2003
Do the math..
EDIT: Vice PC was released 196 days after the PS2 version.
Which makes the difference about 6 months and 12 days.

Well, basically what we know about San Andreas is it is certainly not taking place near or at Sin City, thankfully.
And for another thing, we know its official name: San Andreas, which is known as a parody of San Francisco. Not an adequate amount of information but still enough to hold us over until a little more is released from Rockstar every few months.
BTW, you guys are going a bit off topic, just to let you know. :rolleyes:

Indeed, I hope Rockstar is having a board meeting or something at their Headquarters, they need to release something else: characters, a map overlooking the city, or even what guns they'll include in the game.

lol....yeah damn me college student. i work for verizon, i'm a sales rep. so basically i get paid like 9 bucks an hour to sit at a computer and take a call ever half our or so then see what they want/needhelpwith and see if i can change there services to better suit there needs. it's kinda boring. i wish i could come to this site when i worked....but they said they somehow monitor the sites we go to so i can't. but i have yet to find a security progie in the comp. or server for that matter.

As long as the city is big, it'd be good. San Andreas doesn't sound like a very big place so it's good if R* makes some parts of it up.
